  • Fellowship Community Church Ministry Facility

    FCC Salem’s campus has completed another phase of their master plan. Having outgrown their children and youth space, the two-story, 20,000sf ministry building fulfills their need for large group meeting space and classroom space.   • Blue Ridge Autism and Achievement Center

    The BRAAC expansion and renovation project creates new space accommodating an additional 40 to 50 students. The 12,566sf addition will feature a new gym, additional classroom space, a vocational training center and a new life skills center.The purpose of the additional space is to prepare students for adulthood.   • Salem Montessori Infant and Toddler Center

    This 8,400sf wood framed facility was completed on a 1.5 acre site. The facility features seven classrooms around an atrium as well as restrooms for each classroom, offices, reception space and a kitchen.   • West End United Methodist Church

    The scope of work included replacing the fire damaged framing in the chapel, roof system, and adjacent classrooms. Also, new stain glass windows and new floor coverings were installed and existing hardwood floors were restored. A unique feature of this renovation is the custom oak trim made by St. Pierre Woodworking to replace the historic woodwork throughout the church.

  • Bank of the James

    This team-build project consisted of converting one leased space into two tenant spaces. Bank of the James is leasing 1,800sf of that space.   • Dr. Fame Allergy and Asthma

  • Hurt Park

  • Hillcrest Heights

  • Duncan Audi

  • Roanoke Valley Community Credit Union

    The 2,000 sf bank building is the credit union’s first newly constructed structure.  A unique feature is the lobby area displays community colors that represent two area high schools.  The project finished within budget and construction was completed within 90 days.   Owner:  Roanoke Valley Community Credit Union Architect:  Balzer Associates Location:  Roanoke, VA

  • Floyd Innovation Center

    The timber-framed Innovation Center offers new office space, lab space and production space for start-up, technology based companies.

  • Tech Lab

    This construction project involved renovating a 54,000 square foot shell building into a high-tech medical manufacturing and distribution facility.  The inside walls were constructed of metal studs and a dock with four doors were part of the addition.  Tech Lab features epoxy flooring throughout most of the facility.   • Staunton Country-Cookin

    This renovated restaurant is a 6,000 square foot space that once housed a retail store in a strip mall.  The project involved a complete interior renovation, new commercial kitchen and facade upgrades.  The construction schedule was less than four months.   • HSH Insurance

    G & H Contracting provided design build services to convert  a bank into office space for HSH insurance.  An unique feature was converting the bank’s vault into a conference room.  This renovation project was the second of three projects G & H Contracting completed for this firm.   • Lynn Haven Baptist Church

  • Bastian Union Church

  • Seneca Baptist Church

  • Troutville Baptist Church

  • Emmanuel Wesleyan Church

  • Fincastle Baptist Church

    A main street type welcome center and an 800 seat auditorium is part of this 32,000 square foot addition.  The new addition offers a small cafe  for visitors and members alike to meet and socialize.   This team build project was completed in Spring of 2011.   • Grace Presbyterian Church

  • Fellowship Community Church

    The 44,000 square foot multi-purpose facility features a gymnasium,  classroom space, office and nursery space.   An elevated walking track surrounds the gymnasium/sanctuary.   Contemporary worship is conducted in the gym with moveable platforms and folding chairs allowing the space to have multiple uses.   • Roanoke City Main Library

    Renovations at the City’s Main Library transformed a sixty year old building

  • Virginia Western Community College Brown Library

    This project was an 11,000 sf renovation of the second floor at Virginia Western’s Brown Library.  Construction was completed on time and within budget.  All new HVAC and electrical were part of the renovation.   • Lexington Fire Station

  • STARS

    The STARS facility houses the statewide communications center for the Virginia State Police.  This technologically advanced facility features a concrete ceiling, elevated floor system, bullet-proof doors and windows, and a micro-wave tower.   • 108 Campbell Renovation – Giles Brothers Furniture

    The 108 Campbell project was a mixed-use renovation of a 1904 historical building making this our fifth downtown revitalization  project.  The first floor is commercial and retail space.  The upper floors were renovated into upscale condos.  The project also included a roof top deck .     This historical preservation project was a complete overhaul of an old 36,000 square foot department store.  The first floor provides a 20 vehicle parking garage for ten up-scale apartments. An interior courtyard completes the second floor and the roof top features two penthouses and a “green” roof.     This interior renovation converted an existing four chair dental facility into an eight chair facility with a new waiting room, staff lounge and business office.  The office never ceased operations due to construction.   • Blue Ridge Behavioral Health

  • Invisions Eye Fitness & Fashion

    Invisions in Salem is a 4,300 square foot eye care facility where tall aluminum windows, awnings and a unique EIFS band give this structure a striking appearance.  A unique feature is depressed floor slab that allows for a “floating” hardwood throughout.   Owner:  Invisions Eye Fitness & Fashion Architect:  John Fulton Associates Location:  Salem, VA

  • South Salem Elementary School

    The project included over 70 contractors and 23,000 man hours to over come the project’s fourteen month deadline.  The 80,000 square foot, one-story brick structure will offer a two-story atrium entry way to maximize natural lighting to help reduce energy use.   • Burlington Elementary

    This new addition is a 10,625 square foot pre-engineered structure with masonry veneer.   Construction began in January of 2012 and was completed on time in August of 2012.  Burlington Elementary School is the third facility built for Roanoke County Schools.   • Bonsack Elementary Addition

  • Reliable Tractor

    This pre-engineered facility is an industrial/heavy equipment maintenance facility for Stafford Equipment.  The project features industrial concrete floor construction with steel dust hardeners applied. Owner: Stafford Equipment Architect:  CNNA, Atlanta, GA Location: Cloverdale, VA

  • James River Equipment

    G & H Contracting provided team build services to construct a 16,000 square foot sales and service facility.  This industrial service facility contains an overhead bridge crane. Owner: James River Equipment Architect: Balzer & Associates Location: Salem, VA

  • Virginia Tech Materials Management

    This 7,500 square foot waste management facility has blast proof curtain walls and curved structural steel as well as a 5,00 gallon underground tank. The facility’s purpose is to properly store, consolidate, package and ship hazardous waste materials from campus.   • Radford University Washington Hall

    The five floor, 53,000sf dormitory renovation involved changing the once

  • Roanoke Williamson Road Station 3 – Certified LEED Gold

    Station 3 was Roanoke City’s first LEED certified public facility.  Some of the sustainable components in this LEED Gold facility include a 10,000 gallon rainwater harvesting system.  This water is used for landscaping and washing the trucks.  Pervious concrete and a bio-retention pond were also used to minimize the amount of run-off entering into the storm sewer.   • Masons Cove Elementary

    Masons Cove is the first elementary school to seek LEED certification in Roanoke County.

  • Bridgewater Stone Village Housing – Certified LEED Silver

    Bridgewater College, a private university located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, is offering their students eco-friendly housing.  Stone Village  features five victorian style homes that provides living space for 87 students.  The houses surround an outdoor commons space for its residents.  Stone Village is Bridgewater College’s first LEED certified project.   • Roanoke Melrose Station #5 – Certified LEED Gold

    Melrose Station #5 is Roanoke City’s  second  firestation to receive LEED Gold.  A bio-retention pond and a permeable paver parking lot are a few of the green site features incorporated in design and construction.   • Salem Family YMCA

    The Salem Family YMCA 10,000 SF addition features a workout area, cycling space, and an indoor walking track. Phase II of this expansion project included renovating existing space to offer a teen room, open space for exercise classes, and a coffee corner.   • Virginia Tech Intramural Fields

  • Boy Scouts Aquatic Base

    G H Contracting and Balzer and Associates partnered with the Boy Scouts of America to construct a new pre-engineered hexagon-shaped dining hall on the banks of Claytor Lake in Virginia.  The dining hall can seat up to 384 scouts.   • English Field Indoor Batting Facility

    This indoor pitching and hitting facility is equipped with batting cages and a turf area that is nearly the size of a normal infield. 

  • Lifewise Pavilion

    Lifewise Pavilion Fitness Center is a newly constructed 13,000 square foot structural steel and wood framed structure. 

  • Botetourt Sports Complex

    Botetourt Sports Complex at Greenfield features four championship level softball and youth baseball fields.  The facility was awarded Virginia’s best new public recreation facility in 2008 and “2012 Amateur Softball Association’s Complex of the Year.” The fields are arranged around a central, three story tower with space for operations, concessions, restrooms, and scorekeeping.   • Hope Tree Family Services

  • Roanoke Redevelopment Housing Authority Duplexes

  • Rodeo Grande
